Went to Panthertown Valley Sunday. It's a protected area near Cashiers NC. We went in from the SaltRock Gap trailhead. Some have called it the "Little Yosemete of the East." There's trails all over the place (most of them 'man ways' but you can bush wack if you like (except for the rhodo hells & the cliffs of Little Green & Big Green Mtn's.). Good weather & easy hiking for the novice.
